Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data Swaggers Pizza collects through this website and our pizza vending machines, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We handle personal data in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Who we are
"Swaggers Pizza", "we", "us" and "our" means the business that operates the Swaggers Pizza vending machines and this website (swaggerspizza.com). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Venue requests ("Request a machine"): your name, phone number, email, venue or area, city and any message you add.
- Reviews: your name, where you bought your pizza, your star rating, your review and, if you choose, a phone number or email so we can send you free goodies.
- Licensee applications: your name, phone number, email, city or region, the licence option you're interested in, whether you have a location, how many machines you want, your background and any message you add.
- Messages you send us on social media or by email.
When you buy from a machine
The machine itself does not ask for your name. When you pay by scanning the QR code, payment is handled by our payment service provider on a secure checkout page. Your Mobile Money or card details go to the payment provider and the mobile network or card scheme, not to us. We receive a confirmation of the transaction (for example the amount, time, machine and a payment reference) so we can serve your pizza and handle any issue. Cash payments are not linked to you.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: like most websites, our hosting may record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure.
- Browser storage: we store one essential setting in your browser to remember that you've seen our cookie notice. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- To reply to venue requests and licensee applications, and to assess and set up locations and licences.
- To publish reviews on our website (only reviews we choose to approve, showing your name and the details you gave, never your phone number or email).
- To send free goodies and run social media promotions you take part in.
- To process payments, serve your order, give refunds and handle complaints.
- To keep our website and machines secure and working, and to improve them.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We process your data because you asked us to (for example by sending a form), because we need it to deliver a purchase, because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, or because the law requires it. We will not send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with:
- Payment providers, mobile network operators and card schemes that process your payment.
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as website hosting and IT support, under confidentiality obligations.
- Licensees who operate a Swaggers Pizza machine, only where needed to answer a request about their location.
- Authorities, where the law requires it or to protect our rights, customers or the public.
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and they receive your IP address. Clicking our social media links takes you to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X, which have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for:
- Venue requests and licensee applications: up to 2 years after our last contact, unless they lead to an agreement.
- Reviews: for as long as they are shown on the website, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Transaction records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Payments are handled on the payment provider's secure checkout. No system is completely secure, so please contact us straight away if you think your data has been put at risk.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you can:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data, or stop or limit how we use it;
- object to direct marketing at any time;
- withdraw your consent where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Children
Anyone can buy a pizza, but our forms are meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us your details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
